Description
A lot of time and effort has gone into getting these guards right. It is a delicate balance of safety, durability and aesthetics. They are based on a real historical design. The messer guard has a normal cross guard, but with an additional quillion, called the nail, protruding from the middle. This nail gives the hand extra protection. The balls at the end of the quillons make for a much safer guard with little risk of impalement.
This interchangeable guard can be easily changed for right or left handed people.
They are manufactured from a very tough material which provides a good balance between impact and flexural strength. However, they are plastic and not steel and will break under less pressure than similar metal counterparts. This is a specifically designed inbuilt safety feature – we want the guard to break before you do! Manufactured in the U.K.
