Sabers
A saber (or sabre) is a curved, single-edged sword. Sabers were used especially by cavalry, but also by sailors. The word “saber” comes from the Hungarian word “szablya” (“tool for cutting”). The Hungarians brought this weapon of the riding nomads to Europe in the 9th century from the steppes of Eurasia.
