Description

During the Viking Age, brooches were used to close the neckline of a tunic, cloak or just for a decoration in general. This pointy bowl brooch is made of bronze, and it is a detailed replica of a Viking brooch found in Karelia, Finland.

Pointy bowl brooches were common during the Viking Age, especially in Finland and the Baltic States. A pair of brooches connected the shoulder straps to the apron. They were used mainly by women.

Often one or even several chains were worn between the brooches, hung one on top of the other, and sometimes these were additionally attached to a round fibula or trefoil brooch in the middle of the chest. On the back of this brooch, there is a sturdy needle to help with different attachments.

Since the pointy brooches were always worn in pairs in the Viking Age, when holding up shoulder straps or an apron, it is advisable to order two pieces. The price is for a single (1) pointy brooch.
