Description
This Wolf Cross was modeled after famous Viking amulet found from Fossi, Hrunamannahreppi in Iceland. It combines pagan and Christian symbolism into one jewelry. It has similarities both with Mjölnir (Thor´s hammer) and a cross, symbol of Christianity.
One theory suggests that the wearer of this Wolf Cross wanted to assure himself of both heavenly powers at the time. It could have also been that the wearer simply wore it to be able to trade with both pagan and Christian customers.
Whatever the case might have been, the Wolf Cross is a magnificent testimony to the changes of faith and culture that happened during the 10th century.
The wolf Cross is made of bronze and also available with real silver plating.
A cord (100 cm) is included with this pendant.
