Description

These earrings are based on a belt fitting found from Chernigov in Ukraine. The original belt fitting dates to 10th-century Viking settlement of Chernigov.
As an important symbol of rank, belt fittings were typical decorations of the Rus and the Magyars. They were passed on to the Vikings via the great trade routes as far as Scandinavia. That is why heart-shaped metal pieces like these are often found in Viking Age graves in the North also.

This belt fitting is assumed to have belonged to a Rus warriors belt.

The earrings are made of bronze and they are sold as a pair (2). They can be worn as a perfect accessory for historical reenactment, LARP costumes or as everyday jewelry. Heart-like shapes make them also a nice gift for your loved ones.
