Description

The Jambiya is found in every country that has been inhabited by the Arabs, from Turkey to the Balkans, from Spain to India. Jambiya is the Arabic term for dagger, but it is generally used to describe a specific type of dagger with a short curved blade that is worn at the stomach under a sash or belt. It is unsure how old this exotic knife type is. Our offering is of the form found in Persia and India. Beautiful solid hardwood grip with decorative rondels. Hardwood scabbard covered in thin black leather with nickel tip. Circa 1400’s. This Jambiya is an excellent complement to the Shamshir we also offer.
