Description

The Normans, men of the north, came from Scandinavia and set up a state of their own in the north of France, still known as Normandy. The Normans spread to England, Sicily and parts of Italy as mounted warriors, known for their long mail hauberks, kite shields and conical helmets. This type of slightly curving, forward peaked helmet is an easily recognizable form and would have been a common sight in the Crusades. The conical shape allows blows to slide off while the face was provided some protection with the nasal piece which still allowed great vision. Made of 1.24 mm (18 gauge) steel with a handsome aged finish. Comes with an adjustable liner and chin strap.

Weight 0.8 kg (1 ¾ lbs)).
Inside measurements: 24 cm (9 ½”) front to back x 19 cm (7 ½”) side to side.

Please note! The current helmets in stock have a backward facing peak, as opposed to the forward facing peak in the pictures.
