Description
The Spartan army was one of the toughest on record; they devoted themselves to being the best of the best. Even though all the Greek city states placed great emphasis on honor, loyalty, strength, endurance and combat skills, it was Sparta which elevated the pursuit of these attributes to religious heights. This is a potent weapon that would be superb in the brutality of ancient hand to hand combat. The leaf shaped blade is high carbon steel, grip is bronze. Scabbard is wood covered in leather. A very effective close combat short sword. This version of the Lakonian short sword was copied from the book “The Spartan Army”. Circa 5th Century BCE.
