Description
Trefoil brooches were common and widespread decorations throughout Nordic regions during Viking Age. They were worn as a decoration on the chest, or used to close a cloak. Two brooches could also sit on the shoulders and be connected with chains or ribbons. Trefoil brooches were popular among Viking women.
This brooch is a replica of a trefoil brooch find from Värnamo, Sweden. It is made of bronze and on the back is a sturdy needle for attaching the brooch an fabrics. On the underside there is a small eyelet for chain or ribbon attachments.
